PETITION URGING PM NETANYAHU TO ADOPT LEVY REPORT

Former Supreme Court judge Edmond Levy, left, presenting the settlements report to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Over a thousand visitors to this site have added their names to more than sixty-five American Jewish leaders who signed a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and urged him to adopt the findings of the Levy Report, which asserts that the “settlements” in Judea and Samaria are legal in accordance with international law.
The report, which was authored by a panel of renowned Israeli jurists comprised of Supreme Court justice Edmond Levy, former Foreign Ministry legal adviser Alan Baker, and former deputy president of the Tel Aviv District Court Tehiya Shapira, recommends against the future demolition of communities that had been deemed to be “illegal outposts.”
The letter endorsing the Levy Report, which was spearheaded by Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive Vice President, Emeritus of the National Council of Young Israel, is signed by dozens of prominent Jewish leaders from across the United States, with additional people joining in support of the letter daily.
“As the Levy Report correctly notes, Israel is not engaged in ‘military occupation’ in relation to the communities in Judea and Samaria,” the American Jewish leaders wrote in their letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu. “We believe that this conclusion vindicates the Israeli government, which has been unjustifiably vilified by many in the international community, simply because there are Jews living in this particular area of the Jewish State.”
“Like you, we recognize and respect the fact that the Jewish people have inalienable rights to the land of Israel which stem from the Bible, and we are familiar with the historic legacy of the movement of Ze’ev Jabotinsky, Menachem Begin, and Herut/Likud, which you now lead, that has long endorsed Jewish rights in the entirety of the land of Israel,” continued the Jewish leaders. “Viewing it from this perspective, the Levy Report confirms what we all know to be true and just, and it certainly warrants your support and endorsement.”
In addition to expressing their staunch support of the Levy Report, the American Jewish leaders urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to reject the claims about the report that were set forth in a recent letter organized by the Israel Policy Forum.
“In our opinion, the individuals who have urged you not to accept the findings of the Levy Report under the pretext that Israel’s status as a Jewish and democratic state could somehow be compromised by its adoption are doing a disservice to the State of Israel,” the American Jewish leaders wrote in their letter to the Prime Minister. “Despite assertions to the contrary, the conclusions of the Levy Report do not ‘place the prestige of Israel as a democratic member of the international community, in peril.’ We categorically reject this absurd declaration and sincerely hope and pray that you do the same.”

Honorable Benjamin Netanyahu
Office of the Prime Minister
3 Kaplan Street
P.O. Box 187
Kiryat Ben-Gurion
Jerusalem, Israel 91950
Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu:
We write to you in support of the recent report issued by the Levy Committee. We welcome the report’s findings and greatly appreciate the thorough process and honest approach undertaken by the well-respected legal professionals tasked with authoring this study.
We are heartened by the Levy Report’s finding that the “settlements” in Judea and Samaria are completely legal under international law, and we are encouraged that the report recommends against the future demolition of communities that had been deemed to be “illegal outposts.”
As the Levy Report correctly notes, Israel in “military occupation” in relation to the communities in Judea and Samaria. We believe that this conclusion vindicates the Israeli government, which has been unjustifiably vilified by many in the international community, simply because there are Jews living in this particular area of the Jewish State.
Those who have repeatedly leveled Israel for its willingness to sanction the “settlements” inexplicably ignore the fact that there are approximately 350,000 Jews residing in vibrant communities throughout Judea and Samaria, most of whom make immeasurable contributions to Israeli society. Playing politics with the lives and futures of these tens of thousands of families, comprising hundreds of thousands of Israeli citizens, is absolutely shameful and wholly unacceptable.
In our opinion, the individuals who have urged you not to accept the findings of the Levy Report under the pretext that Israel’s status as a Jewish and democratic state could somehow be compromised by its adoption are doing a disservice to the State of Israel.
Despite assertions to the contrary, the conclusions of the Levy Report do not “place the prestige of Israel as a democratic member of the international community, in peril.” We categorically reject this absurd declaration and sincerely hope and pray that you do the same.
It is not the responsibility of the State of Israel to appease the United Nations or other entities whose interests run counter to the best interests of the Jewish State. We know that your government has not, and will not, mollify those who repeatedly have sought to delegitimize the State of Israel.
We fully understand that you work diligently, day in and day out, to ensure that the citizens of Israel are safe and that their interests are duly protected. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support of the citizens of the scores of communities throughout Judea and Samaria and your continuous efforts to enable them to live their lives fully and freely in their respective homes.
We all owe it to future generations to stand up now for the right and the reality of having the entirety of the Land of Israel, including Judea, Samaria, and all of Jerusalem, for our Jewish People.
Like you, we recognize and respect the fact that the Jewish people have inalienable rights to the land of Israel which stem from the Bible, and we are familiar with the historic legacy of the movement of Ze’ev Jabotinsky, Menachem Begin, and Herut/Likud, which you now lead, that has long endorsed Jewish rights in the entirety of the land of Israel. Viewing it from this perspective, the Levy Report confirms what we all know to be true and just, and it certainly warrants your support and endorsement.
We urge you to adopt the findings of the Levy Report, thereby formally validating the status of the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria as a true part of the State of Israel within the purview of the Israeli government.
Very truly yours,

Someting wrong with the websire, the sighned ptitioners don’t show up at the LAST SIGNATURES. Can you check if I went thru?
Yohanan, please make sure you have logged on to your email, and clicked on the confirmation link. PS: Thanks for signing.
How long does it take to receive the email with the confirmation link? I signed the petition a few minutes ago and am waiting…. Also I notice that Yohanan signed on the 13th but his name is still not appearing on the petition, which makes me think that something is wrong.
Also, what is the difference between http://www.goshomron.com and http://www.yeshuv.org ? It’s confusing that there are two sites….
Goshomron.com is the new site which will be replacing Yeshuv.org
Shame on the IPF who believes more in its material comfort than the spiritual comfort of the Jewish people and caue and the need to support the rightful Jewish cause even if most of the western world and Muslim world are against the Jews.
When Moshe asked for a successor, he said, “Let the Lord, the God of spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, who will go forth before them and come before them, who will lead them out and bring them in (to the land), so that the congregation of the Lord will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
The true leader of Israel should go out before them (1 Sam 18:12-16, 2 Sam. 5:2), leading them in battle as Moses had done in the wars of Sihon & Og and as Joshua had done in repelling Amalek and not remain in the backlines, leaving the risks to others… Netanyahu to Romney: Do Everything to Stop the Ayatollahs (INN, 7/29/2012).

The law is that any land that Arabs once occupied will forever belong to Arabs, even if they stole the land. This is the Moslem law. Jews must explicitly reject this. We must say 3 no’s. No compromise, no withdrawal, no … (fill in).

I agree with the petition.

I feel that the Levy report should be adopted no question about it. That report is such an encouragement to the settlements.
Finally – the Levy report says it all
Levy report should be implemented as it reflects historical accuracy, legal integrity and national security requirements.
Why wait?
Levy Report is a Great Event ! And as a human rights advocate I belieave that Palestinians have right for their own prosperous and friendly to Israel State EAST from River Jordan

“it will be, if you heed the seemingly insignificant parts of these laws, and safeguard them and carry them out, then the Eternal, your G_d, will keep for you the [His promise of] the covenant and the kindness that He promised to your forefathers.”
I think something does not work in site so signatures not accepted
Israel should blantly reject and not negotiate Arab’s idea of land free of Jews. This is pure racism and against international law. Israel should immediately stop discriminate against religious Jews, they must share power and represent the state since ancient religious past is the only justification of Jews being on that land. Whole world understand and recognize this simple truth.
Dear Prime Minister,
What’s the point in commissioning a report, if from the beginning you doubt whether you will accept it and act on it?
I don’t see my signature even though I signed.
Sorry for the confusion, my signature showed up once I confirmed my email. Those of you who do not see your signature, please check your email for the link to confirm the email address, your signature will show up then.
Israel must be kept united and to this end the Levy report must be adopted.
Until the government of Israel stands up for ALL the land, how can we expect the world to? The biggest mistake we ever made was not to completely and for all time annex all the land G-d returned to our hands during the Six Day War. And we should have done so along with the declaration that not one inch of it would ever be negotiable for any reason. Once we opened the Pandora’s box of “Land-for-Peace,” we got neither. True, we mainly have ourselves to blame for training the world how to perceive and treat us, but it is not too late to fix our mistakes. Adoption of the Levy Report is a good first step.
The historical evidence and legal enactments since the signing of the Balfour Declaration, the San Reno Conference and The League of Nations, clearly state that Jewish Settlement west of the river Jordan is permitted and legal. For the record it should be noted that the enactments of The League were encapsulated in the United Nations Organisation at its inception.
Dear Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
I think that the Levy report should be accepted in order to legal integrity and National security for ERETZ ISRAEL.
Shalom Al Israel,
Gustave Rieu
Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu,
Even in Poland righteous people, such as members of Zegota, opposed evil and did so at the risk of their lives. When (if) a similar group develops among Arabs in the Middle East, there will be hope for peace. Until then, please adopt the Levy Report. Actions that indicate strength, integrity and self-respect on Israel ‘s part will serve her well.
Thank you,
Julia Lutch
I suppose it must be right in front of me, but I don’t yet see the place where I can add my signature.
Stop the surrenders to global jihad! Not one inch of Jewish holy land to barbaric, implacable enemies bent on Jewish genocide! In the Palestinian Authority, streets and city squares are named after, and dedicated to savage Muslim killers of Jews. Barbaric Jew killers are regarded as heroes and role models! The peace process is PHONY! In Islam, peace is achieved when Muslims attack, destroy and annihilate a hated infidel nation!
The Quran WAR book teaches HATE, VIOLENCE and MURDER of non-Muslims. Jews are targeted first! The Quran commands Muslims to wage jihad and conquer all nations. Ruthless and treasonous Western leaders have imported many millions of Islam’s foot soldiers into our countries to wage jihad against us as commanded in the Quran.
In Britain, massive numbers of imported Muslims live for free off hard-working British taxpayers, whilst openly declaring their goal is Britain’s conquest. They are Prime Minister Cameron’s and UK leaders top favorites. Helping and supporting the enemies of Britain and freedom is considered a top priority. Brits who protest against Islamization and against Islamic sharia law are persecuted! Some are jailed! Whilst Muslims have been allowed to call publicly in the streets for the MURDER of non-Muslim innocents! Islamic sharia law is being imposed in Britanistan! One law for highly favored Muslims and another law for hated infidel Brits!

I support the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria, no matter what they do or whatever Arabs and other nations of the world say about them. They should grow and continue to be stronger. I do not support the Arabs or the creation of a “Palestinian” state in any form. If they are allowed to expand into Israel, they are bringing a culture of death with them that will also be reflected in the rest of the world. We can choose to support the spread of life in Israel, and the world, by supporting and standing with the Jews in Judea and Samaria. There is no shame in supporting the Jewish settlers. If you do, the threats of the Arabs may be large now but they will be weakened and eventually not be there anymore. The Arabs and their nations are like a pile of wood that has been set on fire. The Jews love life. If you choose life you will always win.
Rights to that land is in the BIble.

the levy report merely endorses the san remo convention of 1920
The Jewish people are the beneficiary of the ‘Palestine Trust’. Its primary purpose is the encouragement and facilitation of dense Jewish settlement in Western Palestine. Those Jewish settlements beyond the green line that disappeared in 1948 or before, disappeared only because of Arab aggression, but their legality was not challenged. Customarily a victorious victim does not return the land even if conquered from a sovereign. Settlements do not pose a demographic problem since a nation-state need not be territorially contiguous. Article 49(6) of the 4 Geneva Convention is irrelevant: it was conceived to prevent forced transportation of populations for the purpose of liquidation and slavery, and no Arab state had recognized sovereignty in Western Palestine (Discourse 2 in Julius Stone’s book).
I agree with the above comments.

Well, I signed the letter but I don’t agree entirely with it. I rewrote it before signing it but my rewrite wasn’t accepted. Here is an important paragraph:
To the land of Israel the Jewish people have inalienable rights which emanate from the Bible. The historic legacy of the movement of Ze’ev Jabotinsky and Herut/Likud, which you now lead, recognizes and affirms these rights. Menachem Begin betrayed that legacy when he and his sycophantic Arik Sharon destroyed Yamit. Now you can decide whether to return the Herut/Likud movement to its historic endorsement of Jewish rights to the entirety of the land of Israel, or to continue the feculent perversion that Menachem Begin intruded. The Levy Report confirms what we all know to be the true and just stand of Herut/Likud; it requires your support and endorsement.
